This month, in keeping with the Advent season and Christmas, we would like to introduce Siberian fir needle oil.
The name “fir needle oil” is actually somewhat misleading, because the oil is obtained through steam distillation of the branches of the Siberian fir.
The Siberian fir is a tall-growing evergreen tree native to the European taiga.
Fir needle oil releases a fresh, woody, and spicy forest fragrance.
It is a wonderfully gentle and skin-friendly oil for both young and old. Especially for children during cold season, this oil is a great alternative to other strong cold remedies, which are often not suitable for small children because of their ingredients.
As with other coniferous trees, inhaling the scent increases the number of natural killer cells, which neutralize free radicals and help stabilize the immune system.
Physically, the oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Due to its mucus-thinning and mucus-loosening effects, as well as its expectorant and antispasmodic properties, it is included in many oil blends for treating colds and respiratory illnesses.
On an emotional level, it helps to reduce stress, restore balance, and improve concentration.
Because of these properties, Siberian fir needle oil is used in the following areas:
- Bronchitis, including in children
- Cough
- Runny nose
- Spastic colitis
- Urinary tract infections
- Muscle tension
- Emotional imbalance
- School-related stress
- Breathing difficulties caused by stress
