Anti-Clostridia mixture in capsules

Clostridium infections are often caused by Clostridium difficile. Infection usually
occurs as a smear infection or through the ingestion of spores via contaminated
surfaces. Older people and people with a weakened immune system are
particularly at risk. The intake of acid blockers is also considered a risk factor, as
they can reduce the natural protective function of the stomach.

A major trigger for C. difficile infection is often previous antibiotic therapy.
Antibiotics not only displace pathogenic germs, but also damage healthy intestinal
bacteria. This creates an imbalance in the intestinal flora, which allows C. difficile
to multiply strongly. The bacteria produce toxins that damage the intestinal
mucosa.
